What is an OCI Card?

Eligibility for OCI Card
You are eligible if you are:
- A citizen of another country but was an Indian citizen on or after 26 January 1950
- A child/grandchild of such a person
- A minor child of an OCI cardholder
- A spouse of an OCI cardholder (subject to conditions)
Note: Citizens of Pakistan and Bangladesh are not eligible for OCI.
Documents Required
- Current foreign passport (minimum 6 months validity)
- Surrender certificate / Renunciation certificate (if previously Indian)
- Proof of Indian origin (passport, birth certificate, etc.)
- Marriage certificate (if applying as spouse)
- Birth certificate of applicant (if applying as child/grandchild)
- 4 recent photographs (white background, 35x45mm)
- Address proof in current country
- Declaration form (duly signed)
OCI Card Processing Time

- Government processing: 8-12 weeks
- OCI card delivery: 4-6 weeks after approval
OCI Card Fees

- OCI re-issue: $25 - $175 (depending on reason)
